MEET THE ARTIST

Artistic Journey Overview
TART began with community and familial support and inspiration. Tayler’s parents are both builders and artists of their own, and from an early age she was in the yard landscaping with her father and making mosaics with her mother. In early education she found her calling in ceramics and began her love of the studio. Tayler continued her exploration in craft and the environment in higher education and found glass, printing, and metal which earned her a BS in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology with a minor in studio arts from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After finishing her degree in 2020, there was nothing better to do than build a home studio on the North Shore of Oahu, so she went right to work. As the world began to open its arms again, Tayler searched for inspiration around the world as she traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand & Vietnam. Once home, with a newly lit flame and a world of inspiration, she partnered with Matthew Holloway to found North Shore Arts Center, a community based art studio dedicated to sharing their love of many mediums. This space allows Tayler to again work alongside other artists and develop her abilities as a teacher. She continues to find a balance in life with art and community all while kindling the flame of inspiration in her own work with yearly travels to all parts of the world. Her most recent trip to Peru has inspired a new collection of work soon to be seen by the public.
